SOUTH Burnett seniors were treated to a morning tea and a line-up of entertainment ahead of National Senior's Week.
More than 140 seniors travelled from Wondai, Nanango, Proston, Yarraman and Kingaroy to celebrate what it means to be a senior, on Thursday, August 16.
South Burnett Deputy Mayor Kathy Duff addressed the group in Kingaroy Town Hall and shared why seniors were so important.
"I think everyday should be seniors day," she said.
Kingaroy alone has seven seniors celebrating their 90th birthday this year.
Nanango member Deb Frecklington said seniors had contributed so much to the South Burnett community and invest precious time into the next generation by spending time with grandchildren and great grandchildren.
"You provide so much for our community in the past and the future," she said.
They all gathered to celebrate National Seniors Week which will run next week, from August 18-26.
Special guests also included Stanwell representatives Kathy Cope and Rob Woodall, and SBCare representatives Jenny Gemmell and Ron Reeve.
