Free artist talk at Northern Rivers Community Gallery

TALKING Art with Leonie Lane and John Stewart Northern Rivers Community Gallery (NRCG) is presenting a free artist talk on Saturday 17 September at 10am with exhibiting artists Leonie Lane and John Stewart.

Leonie and John integrate both traditional and digital technologies within their design practices.

Leonie will explore the concepts behind this collaboration, wallpaper design and digital printing while John will describe the many processes behind the production of his innovative wall and table vases.

Lane and Stewart's current exhibition at the NRCG, Outside > Inside, draws inspiration from the landscape in which they live.

The installation of wallpaper and ceramic vases features imagery and forms influenced by local flora, fauna and scenes of rural habitation.

Applying the advice William Morris, the 1800s English textile designer, gave his Arts and Crafts students 'to follow nature', Leonie and John work to bring the 'outside' inside.

This artist talk is on Saturday 17 September 2016 from 10am to 11am.

This is a free Gallery event; bookings not required.

The Northern Rivers Community Gallery is located at 44 Cherry Street Ballina and is open Wednesday to Friday from 10am until 4pm and weekends from 9.30am until 2.30pm.

For further information contact the Gallery on telephone 02 6681 6167 or visit www.nrcgballina.com.
