Flickerfest's lineup - the hottest short films in the world

Celebrating 25 years of hot shorts, Flickerfest is Australia's leading Academy® Accredited and BAFTA-recognised short film festival.

Now touring throughout Australia to more than 50 venues giving local Flickerfest audiences the first look at the hottest short films in the world today.

Flickerfest is excited to be bringing the National Tour back to Maryborough with two wonderful programmes of short films which will screen over one big night on Wednesday 23rd March 2016 at the Brolga Theatre and Convention Centre!

Kicking off at 6.30pm on Wednesday 23rd March is the hugely popular Best of Australian Shorts programme, which features a range of fantastic new short films.

Catch NAN AND A WHOLE LOT OF TROUBLE written by Queensland award-winning writer Sue McPherson; and ERNIE BISCUIT, a clever animation by Oscar® winning filmmaker Adam Elliot which follows a lonely, deaf Parisian Taxidermist.

And don't miss THE MEEK, written and directed by Queensland's Joseph Brumm and produced by Laura DiMaio, featuring a beautiful score by The Cat Empire's Ollie Mcgill. Plus many more great short films!

Later that evening at 8.30pm, the Short Laughs comedy programme will keep you grinning for the entire week ahead!   Highlights include the gorgeously shot and very funny SLINGSHOT, this year's Flickerfest winner of the Academy® Accredited Virgin Australia Award for Best Australian Short Film.

Plus the hilarious SATAN HAS A BUSHY TAIL, a wickedly fun, charming buddy comedy about grandparents, bereavements & a demonic squirrel.

The programmes have been hand-picked from the festival and are full of fantastic short films! Don't miss out on Flickerfest 2016 when it comes to Maryborough!

Flickerfest is Australia's largest touring film festival, visiting 52+ locations around the country and is proudly supported by Screen Queensland for the tour across Queensland.
