THEY are the people who are there for us when we need them most.

Auxiliary firefighters from Charleville, Augathella, Quilpie and Roma completed a four day road traffic accident training course on the weekend.

Training co-ordinator Darrin Kerr said firies were shown the most modern ways to deal with late model cars in a multi-vehicle crash scenario.

"It's extremely important. We are teaching them up to date skills of how to deal with modern car technology," Mr Kerr said.
