Fifties fun with showgirls' opera act
SONGS from Stage and Screen is the brand new show from The 7 Sopranos.
The '50s has never been so fun.
The 7 Sopranos take you back in time to the era of Hollywood glamour as they throw off their classic opera gowns for 50s pin up looks, with their upcoming Australian show dedicated to well-known popular hits.
Living up to their reputations as the "showgirls of opera", The 7 Sopranos' new show draws upon classic songs such as I Got Rhythm, Big Spender and Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend in a deliciously cheeky show celebrating sisterhood, the power of transformation, and flirtatious fluttering petticoats.
It is 1956. Radio broadcasters predict that television will be the death of radio.
For five years the voices of Australia's favourite singing group The 7 Sopranos have seduced audiences across Australia.
The race is now on to transform from radio stars to TV stars.
Will they succeed?
In a triumph of beautifully blended harmonies, incredible musicianship and spine tingling arrangements from acclaimed composers such as Rogers and Hammerstein, Gershwin and Mancini, The 7 Sopranos will intoxicate the senses and seduce the mind with a stage show unlike any other.
So, channel your inner Doris Day, Marilyn Monroe or Rita Hayworth as you are transported into a world of nylons, killer heels and eye-popping lipstick!
Founded by creative director Tarita Botsman, POPCORN is the second album based around their new show following their 2013 self titled album, The 7 Sopranos, which reached number two on the ARIA charts.
The 7 Sopranos perform their new show at The Art House Wyong, the Central Coast's largest performing arts' centre, on Wednesday, April 5 at 7.30pm.
Tickets are available from The Art House directly on (02) 4335 1485 or online at www.thearthouse wyong.com.au.
