WINSTON Smushface is the first animal to join his human counterparts as an official RSPCA Qld ambassador.

Winston joins a host of Queensland celebrities and sport stars encouraging fans to adopt their newest family member from the state's leading animal welfare organisation.

"Famous pets like Winston Smushface are fantastic social media influencers who have a large following, so it only makes sense that we would get them on board to help spread the message of rescue animals and support all things RSPCA," said RSPCA spokesperson Michael Beatty.

"Winston is the perfect first member of our fur‐bassador team as he is a great example of the wonderfully unique and interesting rescue animals that complete the family home."

"Winston Smushface and the future fur‐bassador team will be a great drawcard to our events throughout the year and will no doubt create a lot of interest regarding our initiatives on social media. It's almost like having animal royalty on our side."

RSPCA Queensland will be growing the animal ambassador team, and are looking out for other social media famous pets to scout.
