Exhibitions set to impress at Northern Rivers gallery
NORTHERN Rivers Community Gallery (NRCG) in Ballina is presenting two tantalising exhibitions in February.
The exhibitions open on Wednesday, February 1, and continue until Sunday, February 26.
The official launch event will be held on Thursday, February 2, from 5.30pm to 7.30pm, and all are welcome to attend.
Replanting Riverbanks | Michael Chapus
This exhibition presents paintings about paintings, to please the eyes, to entice the gaze, and to harmonise.
Collected impressions of fleeting locations, evolving through time and fomenting mutations, resting places for contemplative minds.
In these images one may recognise the influence of romanticism, brushwork reminiscent of Van Gogh, or traces of Pissarro's subtle compositional tools.
At first glance it may not appear as such, but nothing has been left to chance.
