A DRAMATIC performance describing the emotional collision of a family's ambition with the law will offer a cautionary tale to seniors on the Sunshine Coast.

Piano Forte is a harrowing story that brings into the spotlight the devastating effects of elder abuse in the community.

Developed by the Suncoast Community Legal Service and a creative team of theatre professionals, the film intends to educate seniors on wills, estates and powers of attorney. 

The Suncoast Community Legal Service and Relationships Australia QLD will host free screenings of the film across the Sunshine Coast this August.

Following each screening, there will be a Q&A session led by SCLS principal solicitor Julian Porter and supported by the Elder Abuse Prevention Service, and the Advanced Care Planning and family counsellors from Relationships Australia QLD. 

The Elder Abuse Prevention Support and Service provides a multi-disciplinary service model that includes case management, information, support and referrals to improve health, well-being, social connection and safety. The service also addresses the legal aspect of elder abuse.

• Caloundra RSL on Thursday August 16,
