Discover fresh produce at Jan Powers Farmers Markets
WHEN the late, great Robin Williams said "spring is nature's way of saying, let's party" he nailed it.
It feels like the first kiss of summer in Queensland without the fierce humidity. It's when bare trees begin to show off their new and splendid clothes and a fresh new crop of produce piles into Jan Power's Farmers Markets.
It's the colour that gets you, closely followed by the mouth-watering wonderfulness.
Each week across South East Queensland thousands gather at a Jan Powers Farmers Market to cherish soil food - real food, produced on farms, full of goodness - grown in the sunshine and in the earth.
Jan Power is synonymous with championing local produce and with putting our farmers markets firmly on the map.
Now run by her daughter Sammy Power, there are Jan Powers Farmers Markets in Brisbane City, at the Powerhouse in New Farm, by the sea at Manly and the Blackwood St Precinct of Mitchelton; giving more than 300 growers an outlet every week, and thousands the opportunity to enjoy their wares.
Every Jan Powers Market is a big, bustling open air market selling fresh produce.
Each stall is hand-picked by the Jan Powers team, to showcase only the finest fresh produce, from paella to pineapples, bagels to baklava, and sausages to spices.
