Super moon chase ends with a misty bush Photo of the Day

VOTE FOR TOMORROW'S PHOTO OF THE DAY

Went out to photograph the super moon rising but a thick blanket of fog rolled in, so instead of capturing a super moon, I captured a super fog.
Went out to photograph the super moon rising but a thick blanket of fog rolled in, so instead of capturing a super moon, I captured a super fog. Di Lymbury

DI Lymbury went out with the idea of photographing the latest super moon (AKA the Blood Moon AKA the Moon of Doom (okay, that last one is just me)), instead she ended up blanketed by fog and scored this beautiful misty bushscape.

It was another very tight vote in yesterday's poll, with Steve Parmenter coming within two points of having his second Photo of the Day in a row with a terrific shot of lightning taken from Ballina's North Wall at 2am yesterday.

In the end, Steve's image picked up 27% of the overall vote while Di's received 29% to become today's Photo of the Day.

Photo of the Day celebrates the beauty of the Northern Rivers and the talent of its people.

As well as appearing here, it is published on our website and appears as the cover image on our Facebook page.

To contribute to Photo of the Day, share an image to our Facebook page or vote in the poll below before noon.

We have four images in contention for tomorrow's Photo of the Day. The selection of images in today's poll is just ... wow.

Respect to Steve Parmenter, who went out again last night to grab an amazing 2am shot of North Wall.

Voting closes at noon.
