Designer to showcase plus size range at fashion festival

ALISON Dominy believes every woman deserves the opportunity to wear luxurious well crafted clothes.

Tired of plus size fashion that use cheap, heavy and hot fabrics, Alison created fabrics are soft against the skin and comfortable to wear.

Alison debuted her inaugural brand in 2014 and immediately developed a string cult following.

"It's about creating fashion for the skin you're in and is dedicated to bring fashion to women for sizes 12 to 24", Alison said.

Valuing the importance of presenting yourself to the world, Alison only knows too well how hard it is to find classic attire for curvy physiques in sizes 12 and beyond that can take you from office to evening.

This drew Alison out of human resources and back into the fashion world where she spent 4 years training under the watchful eye Australian TAFE fashion designer Margaret Adams.

Specializing in silks, crepes, linen modal/jerseys, 100% cottons, tencel with lyocell fiber and technical polyester, Alison spends time in her studio meticulously selecting colors and fabrics that do not follow current trends but never date.

"I know my garments and customers well and give them a signature look of classically designed pieces that show an alluring timelessness - all with a modern twist," she said.

Alison Dominy will showcase Summer 2016/2017 at the Sunshine Coast Fashion Festival in October.
