Cyclist, 80, rushed to hospital after colliding with a 4WD

Forensic Crash Unit officers are investigating a serious traffic crash at Bongaree this afternoon.

Initial inquires indicate around 3.55pm, Sunday, a bicycle was travelling north on Goodwin Drive just past Coolgarra Avenue.

The rider of the bicycle has then turned right across the road and collided with a 4WD which was also travelling north on Goodwin Drive.

A 80-year-old Banksia Beach man was transported to the Royal Brisbane Hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

The driver of the 4WD was not physically injured.

Investigations are continuing.
