YOUR STORY: Nine Glennie girls have been selected to join the Queensland Equestrian team to compete at the National Interschool Equestrian Championships at the Sydney International Equestrian Centre in late September 2015.

The Championships attract more than 2000 school based competitors, aged 5-18 years, from around the country.

Abbey Willmington, Emily Coggan, Philippa McKee, Nicole Murphy, Shelby Emmerton, Sarah Coggan, Holly Willmington, Grace and Eve Muirhead are riding high after a successful year to date with their horses.

They are now training to join the 78 member strong team to compete in show horse, dressage, eventing, showjumping and combined training disciplines for the Championships.

Emily, Philippa and Nicole will enjoy the honour of competing for Queensland as well as securing three of the ten captaincy roles for the team.

Emily will lead the Queensland Equestrian Team as Captain with Philippa announced as Vice Eventing Captain and Nicole Murphy chosen as Vice Showjumping Captain.

Emily said, "From a very young age each of us have lived and breathed the sport of Equestrian. Attending the National Championships is a reward for the many hours of training and dedication to the sport."

"We're looking forward to travelling to Sydney with our families, meeting other competitors from all over the nation and letting our skills and horses shine."
