COURTNEY Hancock is disappointed to have just narrowly missed the Irwins on I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

The ironwoman was the first celeb sent packing from the reality show last night.

She believes the surprise appearance by the Irwins will help to re-invigorate the camp as the effects of prolonged hunger and boredom set in.

"What an amazing family; they're so great for our country," Hancock told APN.

"It was quite an emotional day for us (with the elimination), so that would have been a high for them that night.

"The other night we had half a brownie each and we were like animals just drooling. I was embarrassed thinking how can I be like this? But you are just starving all the time."

Despite spending the shortest amount of time on the show, Hancock said she got everything she wanted out of the experience.

"Someone's got to go first and obviously it was meant to be," she said.

"I have no regrets. I did it; I enjoyed it; I won't do it again.

"I've been a professional athlete for 10 years now and this gave me an opportunity to make some amazing friends and learn from some pretty inspiring people. I ticked all those boxes."

Hancock believes Brendan Fevola and Shane Warne are the show's early frontrunners.

"Fev hasn't had a down moment yet; he's on fire," she said.

"He's a rock in there and I think people will support him.

"Coming in a couple of days late can be quite hard, but Warnie came in as team leader straight away and I think he meshed in very well… he's another one I'd back to stay in there for while."

But she said not to count out the women just yet.

"Out of the girls I think Bonnie (Lythgoe) will go a long way," she said.

"She's such a sweetheart and she's got a lot of support around her. She's so entertaining, so funny and so down to earth.

"But Laurina's also definitely shown she's tough. She's in there to win it. She doesn't want to get second place."

Betting website SportsBet tips Noosa's Jo Beth Taylor as the next celebrity likely to be eliminated.

The show continues tonight at 7.30pm on Channel 10.
