Get the blood flowing: An exercise to warm up your winter

WINTER is around the corner and the need to stay active is essential!

And Body + Soul gym manager Rob Hubert has the perfect exercise to keep the blood flowing approaching the colder months.

In an exclusive series for Seniors News, Rob will guide you step-by-step through an easy to follow set of short, instructional videos.

These videos are instructional ONLY. If you are suffering from any physical ailments or injuries, please consult your doctor before attempting exercise.

Let's get cracking with this core rotational exercise.

This simple exercise can be done anywhere, such as in front of the mirror, in the lounge room, or even when you get out of bed in the morning.

But first, you must activate your core, which is essential to perform the exercise.

Once you discover your core, put your hands out in front of you, stand up tall and straight, and rotate your body in a controlled motion (repeat for about 30 repetitions).

It's as simple as that!

ROB'S TOP TIPS

  • Activate your core
  • Stand up tall and straight
  • Use a slow and controlled motion of rotation
  • Hold a can of food (or something with weight) for a challenge
