Author will talk about surfing history at meeting

THE ANNUAL General Meeting of Cooroy-Noosa Genealogical and Historical Research Group will be held at 2pm on Saturday, September 12 at Cooroy Library, Maple St, Cooroy.

The guest speaker at 1pm before the meeting will be Phil Jarrett, as an author, journalist and passionate surfer, Phil is well known on the Sunshine Coast.

He will be telling us about 60 years of surfing history and the formation of the National Surfing Reserves.

A Fundraising Garage Sale is being organised for Saturday, September 26 at 84 Werin St, Tewantin from 6.30am to 1pm.

On sale will be plants and household goods, there will also be a Men's Shed corner.

On Monday, October 19 the group will conduct an Open Day at our Research Room, 41 Miva St, Cooroy.

All newcomers will be welcome.
