Construction begins on new $25 million facility

A NEW, class-leading residential aged care facility could welcome guests as soon as the middle of next year after the launch of the historic $25 million structure in the south of Brisbane.

Palm Lake Care Mount Warren Park will change the "perception of aged care" with 110 beds (including 20 memory support beds) across two floors of habitable space.

The facility, the first multi-storey structure for the Palm Lake Group, will include 24-hour nursing care, café, theatre, hair salon and gymnasium.

"We are very excited to see this long-held vision come to reality," Groupe CEO Manuel Lang said.

"Palm Lake Care Mount Warren Park will, no doubt, be another stellar addition to the Group."

City of Logan Mayor Luke Smith said the new development was a "win-win" for the city.

"It's great to see Palm Lake Care investing further in our city," Mayor Smith said.

"This development will create new jobs for our residents and great lifestyle options for our senior citizens, making it a win-win for the city of Logan."

Palm Lake Care Mount Warren Park is Palm Lake Group's fifth care facility and joins sister sites at Bargara, Deception Bay, Redland Bay and Bethania.

Construction is expected to take a year with first residents to move in mid-2018.
