WE WELCOME all Gold Coast and Tweed area residents and visitors. U3A Members and guests are welcome to come along to the U3A QLD. Network Conference at Tweed Heads Civic Centre, Brett Street, Tweed Heads and hosted by U3A Twin Towns. The Conference Keynote Speaker will be Mr Mark Peters, Chief Executive Officer of the 2018 Commonwealth Games. OUR April First Friday topic is 'recycling'. We all want to do our bit for the environment so find out how you can make a difference. A Council person will explain the new 3 Bin System that starts in July and tell us how to sort our waste to cut down on landfill. I am sure you will all have lots of questions so this is the place to get answers. Be at the Uniting Church Hall, 24 Kingscliff St, Kingscliff on Friday, April 7 at 2pm. IS OFFERING a new series of classes. Cultures in Context, a five week course being offered once a month over 5 months, by former Professor of Cultural Geography Dr John Tyman who has had first-hand experience of daily life in a range of different cultures. The next four topics are the "Sawos, people of New Guinea", "African habitats, forest, grassland and slum", "Nepal, Environments and Traditions"and "Egypt and the Sahara" The next class is March 22, followed by April 26, May 24 and June 21. We are also offering a variety physical activities and inner health classes including Stretch and Dance and Tai Chi. Stretch and Dance is exercising to music -a wonderful introduction to health, fitness and stamina, to tone up the body and make you feel good, held on Fridays at 9am. Tai Chi is a structured form of movement designed for exercise and meditation. Tai Chi, held on Wednesdays- Tai Chi for Arthritis at 9am and Tai Chi at 9.45am all welcome to come along. MEETS the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 6.30pm in the Blue Room of the Tweed Heads Bowls Club. A delightful meal as well as Guest speakers make a fun night. THE ART OF STORYTELLING IN THE GALLERY

NORTHERN Rivers Community Gallery (NRCG), Ballina presents two new exhibitions in March and welcomes community and visitors to join us in the Gallery. 'Our Ballina Table' features photography drawn from and inspired by a cookbook produced by the parents of Emmanuel Anglican College, Ballina. This exhibition showcases photography by Gavin Hughes and Wanda Chin and some of the best stories from the book. If These Halls Could Talk is a multi-arts project developed by Arts Northern Rivers who commissioned renowned artists to transform seven halls across the Northern Rivers into site-specific works in response to the unique narrative of the hall and its community. Both exhibitions are on until Sunday, March 26. The Northern Rivers Community Gallery is located at 44 Cherry Street, Ballina and is open Wednesday to Friday from 10am until 4pm and weekends from 9.30am until 2.30pm.
