NERANG RED CROSS
WE ARE looking for people with five hours per week to spare to volunteer at Nerang Red Cross. We run a thrift shop and a mobility equipment hire service for the wider community and would appreciate some assistance. MEMBERS of our club held our AGM in February and elected a new committee to organise events and fund raise in 2018. VIEW Clubs support the work of The Smith Family, a national charity that helps children in need with their education; and provide opportunities for women to establish new friendships. RSPCA is excited to be opening a new op shop in Labrador at 118 Brisbane Road. We are looking for enthusiastic people who have the time to volunteer to come and be part of a great team of people raising money for the animals in our care. ANY stroke (or brain attack) survivor, members of their family their carer(s) and other interested members of the public, are invited and welcome to attend our monthly meetings. Talking with others about your experiences, both before and after meetings, can often bring surprising results. A chance word may result in your learning how someone else overcame a problem you have, or the other person discovering how you mastered a problem they have. Come along to this meeting of the Gold Coast Stroke Support Group for you will almost certainly find someone there who has had a similar experience to your own.
