Collage workshop at Coffs Harbour Regional Gallery

ISABEL Ricketts, one of the region's best painters whose exhibition 'The Fragility of Dreams' is currently on show at Coffs Harbour Regional Gallery, will be running a mixed medium workshop at the Regional Gallery on August 13.

Isabel spent a whole year creating a body of work for 'The Fragility of Dreams', inspired by quilts made by her grandmother and from older quilts held by Coffs Harbour Regional Museum.

Her works examine the way in which domestic textiles, including clothing, can generate and convey memories and feelings.

Isabel will give a demonstration of how she created these artworks and then help the group create their own pictures.

The theme will be 'Memories and Dreams' and participants should bring along photocopies of images and any other memorabilia - such as gift-wrapping, old paper patterns, or sheet music - that have personal significance.

When:          Saturday 13 August

Where:        Coffs Harbour Regional Gallery, cnr Coff & Duke Street

Time:           10am - 4pm

Cost:            $50 per person, bookings essential, places limited
