Coles dumps most annoying part of self-serve checkout
IF you're one of thousands of Toowoomba shoppers who've been met with the annoying "unexpected item in the bagging area" alert in Coles, your days of frustration may be over.
The supermarket has reportedly disabled the function after customer complaints.
The chain uses a recorded message to notify customers of unexpected items at self-serve checkouts.
The message is relayed when a weight detector does not accord with scanned items.
