Cold Chisel to headline Bluesfest

CHEAP wine and a three-day growth won't only be fashionable at next year's Bluesfest; it will be belted straight from Barnsey's lips.

The first Australian band to headline the festival in its 23 years, Cold Chisel will close the first day of the five-day event.

The Australian rock icons are currently on a 36-date tour across Australia and New Zealand that draws to a close next week in Brisbane.

The band has been working on new material and will perform their hits as well as a few new songs from a forth coming album.

Charley Drayton joins the band on drums after original drummer Steve Prestwich died suddenly in January this year from a brain tumour.

Cold Chisel join other Aussie acts John Butler Trio and Harry Manx on the Easter weekend festival as well as Roger Daltrey of The Who and Earth Wind and Fire. The festival kicks off on Thursday, April 5 at the Tyagarah Tea Tree Farm.
