Coast homes affected by power outage

UPDATE:

POWER has been restored to the Bli Bli homes which were left without power this morning.

EARLIER:

APPROXIMATELY 55 homes in Bli Bli have been left without power after under ground power lines were damaged.

An Energex spokeswoman said the damage had been caused by a third party.

"Unfortunately someone using an excavator has come into contact with underground power lines on Camp Flat Road in Bli Bli," she said.

"It's left about 50 people without power.

"We're working to get everybody back on as soon as we can and are doing repairs now.

"We thank everyone for their patience."

It's reported that the power went out at just before 10am.

Energex urged everyone wanting to perform work to call Dial Before You Dig on 1100 before starting to prevent incidences like this from happening.
