Classical Cupcake Concert is always a sweet treat

THE Order of St John of Jerusalem Knights Hospitaller Sunshine Coast Commandery is a "mouthful".

What a delightful "mouthful", however, when the group presents its annual Classical Cupcake Concert for 2016 on Sunday.

The cupcake afternoon tea has become legendary in Main Street, Buderim, and this year is certain to follow suit.

The Sunshine Concert Band, fresh from its Anniversary Concert, has had a feast of cakes lately and music director Ken Chadwick recently had the privilege of cutting the band's 20th anniversary cake, pictured.

As usual, the Cupcake Concert will be performed by the Sunshine Coast Concert band and the varied program will be tailored toward the classics.

Capriccio Espagnol, The Holy City and Jupiter Hymn will be featured, along with the Theme from Star Wars and the Man from Snowy River.

There will be something for everyone and featured singers are Tanya McFadyen and Allan Lanham.

The very worthy recipients of funds raised at this year's Cupcake Concert will be the Western Queensland Drought Appeal.

The concert is on Sundat at 2pm at St Mark's Anglican Church, Buderim.

Cost is adults $25 and concessions $20.

Only 200 tickets are available. Pre-sold ticketholders will get preference.

Tickets are available from the Buderim Old Post Office or at the door.
