City rock ‘n roll dancers celebrate 10th anniversary
TOOWOOMBAS rockers and rollers donned their swing skirts, tightened their ties and even sported fedoras for the Just Rock Toowoomba 10th anniversary dance at Drayton Hall on Saturday, 12.
In true rock and roll style, it was a night of leisure and camaraderie attended by club dancers past and present.
The next day Crazy Feet Dance Studio in Brisbane held a workshop.
Just Rock Toowoomba president Dennis Mitchell said dancers travelled from Gold Coast, Brisbane and Ipswich for the event.
"When you dance you take time out for fun and enjoyment and you connect with loved ones, your friends and yourself," he said.
Mr Mitchell has been dancing for eight years and enjoyed the social aspects of the hobby.
"The time-honoured rules of rock and roll demand integrity, discipline and respect," he said.
Just Rock Toowoomba provides weekly dance lessons on Sunday afternoons and monthly social dances.
