Child rapist Kevin Howard banned from moving here

SEXUAL predator Kevin Howard will not be allowed to move to northern NSW - at least in the short term.

The rapist will be subject to an interim supervision order requiring him to live in the Sydney metro region upon his release from jail on October 7.

He will be forced to wear an ankle bracelet for electronic monitoring and will be subject to a strict curfew.

Bans on approaching or contacting children and hanging around schools and playgrounds will be in place.

Howard will also be forbidden to consume drugs or alcohol.

An application to extend the supervision order will come before the Supreme Court on November 6.

Howard will be allowed to move anywhere he wishes if the extension is not granted. -APN NEWSDESK

Child rapist Kevin Howard parole decision released

CHILD rapist Kevin Howard will spend another month in prison after his parole application was rejected.

The State Parole Authority denied Howard's application due to the Supreme Court granting an interim extended supervision order.

"The Corrective Services NSW Commissioner (also) indicated an interest in the offender and a public review hearing would need to be held to allow the Commissioner to make submissions prior to SPA making an order," a spokesman said.

Howard's total nine-year sentence expires on October 7.

His was denied parole last year when his eight-year non-parole period expires as he had not completed a sex offender treatment program.

That program has now been completed.
