Chefs cook up gourmet answer to camp cooking
IF YOU'VE ever struggled with the conundrum of what food to pack for a holiday, a trip to the Sunshine Coast Home Show and Caravan Camping and Boating Expo this weekend at Kawana could provide the answer.
This question is especially pertinent for those about the to embark on a weekend away or a longer holiday towing your camper trailer or caravan or even touring in a motorhome.
Chefs and foodies Jennifer Hill and Annette Long will aim to answer the question of what should be in the pantry on your mobile escape machine by presenting interesting and practical ideas on things to take and things to cook that are easy, wholesome and a bit of fun.
Jennifer and Annette love cooking and as they travel a lot themselves are keen to showcase easy, delicious recipes that require little effort and don't need you to transport the whole pantry from home but do take camp cooking to the next gourmet level.
Cooking and presentation times will be at 10am, noon and 2pm daily on centre stage in the food area at the Sunshine Coast Home Show and Caravan Camping and Boating Expo.
The Sunshine Coast Home Show and Caravan Camping and Boating Expo opens today (October 21) at the Sunshine Coast Stadium Grounds at Kawana.
The event has grown enormously this year with parking access off Nicklin Way and also off Sportsman's Parade. There is an on-site parking fee of $5 per car if you enter off Nicklin Way but there is on-street parking available.
There is another small free car park at the northern end of Lake Kawana with an entry off Sportsman's Parade plus on street parking.
