AUSSIES LIVE: Five things to watch on day seven

IF YOU'RE lucky enough to have scored a Friday off then you're in luck because The Aussies 2016 is only heating up.

Open competitors are in the water once again today, as Surf Life Saving's best look to secure that all-important Aussie title.

Here's five things you might want to check out down at Maroochydore, Alexandra Headland or Mooloolaba today.

1. Beach races

Who will be the last man or woman standing at Mooloolaba when the flag races start at 1pm.

It's the perfect place for spectators to get an up-close glimpse of the action, with grandstand seating lining the front of Mooloolaba Surf Club.

2. Ironwoman

The open ironwomen will battle out the quarterfinal ahead of Sunday's much-anticipated final at Maroochydore.

Can the Coast's Jordan Mercer continue her dream year? Or will former Coaster Maddy Dunn make a triumphant return to the Coast?
