Aussie stars unite for marriage equality video

AN array of Aussie and New Zealand stars now based in Hollywood have teamed up to throw their support behind marriage equality, encouraging Australians to post their 'Yes' votes if they haven't already done so.

Homegrown stars including Hugh Sheridan (Packed To The Rafters), Yvonne Strahovski (The Handmaid's Tale) and Luke Hemsworth (Westworld) join one passionate Kiwi (Wentworth's Danielle Cormack) to ask Aussies to vote 'yes' - then post their surveys.

Figures released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics yesterday reveal that an estimated 62.5% of eligible Australians have already voted in the same-sex marriage survey - meaning there are still millions of forms to be returned, with less than four weeks to go until the survey closes.

The video was released by US-based organisation GLAAD (the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, who have thrown their support behind a 'Yes' vote in Australia.

Eligible Australians have until 6pm (local time) on Friday, 20 October 2017 to request a replacement form.

Participants in the video include:

Hugh Sheridan (Packed to the Rafters, House Husbands)

Yvonne Strahovski (The Handmaid's Tale, Chuck, Dexter)

Luke Hemsworth - (Westworld, Infini, Kill Me Three Times)

Daniel MacPherson - (Strike Back, APB, The Shannara Chronicles, Neighbours)

Lee Jones - (Wake in Fright, The Bastard Executioner)

Rick Cosnett - (Quantico, The Flash, The Vampire Diaries)

Key upcoming survey dates:

Friday, 20 October (6pm local time) - Final day for requesting or picking up replacement survey forms, or for requesting a Secure Access Code to access telephone and online response options.

Friday, 27 October - Please mail your form back to the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) by this date to make sure it counts.
