Astronaut shoots stunning footage of Earth
The world is a beautiful and wondrous place.
And nothing encapsulates the awe-inspiring reverence of our home than a picture of the Earth amongst the stars.
French astronaut Thomas Pesquet surely had one of the greatest views of our planet when he orbited over North America on the International Space Station.
Pesquet filmed a time lapse video from the highest of vantage points as the station passed over California.
The stunning footage showed a thunderstorm rolling across the horizon as lightning licked the night time sky.
Pesquet, who is on a six-month mission in space, shared the footage on his Twitter account and it's with a joyous heart we say "merci!"
