YOUR STORY: Arriving in vintage style to annual Avegates ball
ARRIVING in style and dressed to impress, more than 100 guests attended the Avegates Gala Ball for people with disability.
Avegates, a Multicap innovation in Rockhampton, recently hosted the annual ball at the Frenchville Sports Club.
More than 100 guests arrived courtesy of 23 vintage hotrods, a generous contribution of the Rockhampton Vintage Car Club.
Guests were taken on a joy ride along the river and around town before arriving at the venue for a red carpet style entrance.
Guests graced the beautifully decorated room where they enjoyed live music, socialising and a popular photo booth, instantly capturing the many smiles and tongue poking.
Up for grabs on the night were more than 40 raffle and lucky door prizes, creating much anticipation and excitement.
Opportunities for getting out and socialising with friends in the wider community is an important aspect of the Avegates innovation.
"The night is a great way for our Rockhampton individuals to feel special and get dressed up for the occasion," Avegates co-ordinator Nick Martin said.
"Our annual event is always well supported by the community, with the many generous donations to make the night special for people with disability."
