Acclaimed as the "Angel of Australia", MIRUSIA gained worldwide fame as the featured soprano soloist with André Rieu and the Johann Strauss Orchestra.
Born in Australia to Dutch parents, she studied opera at the Queensland Conservatorium and at the age of 21, was announced as the youngest winner ever of the prestigious Dame Joan Sutherland Opera Award.
"What then followed in my career can only be described as a fairy tale come true," says MIRUSIA.
Her Dutch aunt wrote an email to André Rieu to introduce him to her and after watching and listening to some clips on her website, Rieu called her right away at home in Australia.
Just two days after this first phone call she auditioned for Rieu in Maastricht in The Netherlands.
It was a success and she returned to Australia with a contract in hand. The beautiful blonde soprano then moved to Maastricht, The Netherlands, where she was welcomed with open arms and since 2007 has been touring all over the world enchanting millions of people with her voice.
In October 2010, MIRUSIA's album and DVD "Always & Forever" was released in Australia. Singing in six different languages, the album features favourites such as Schubert's "Ave Maria", Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Memory" (Cats) "Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again" (The Phantom of the Opera) and "Botany Bay" in a tribute to her homeland.
The DVD went straight to No. 1 on the ARIA DVD charts and the album to No. 17 on the ARIA pop charts. This resulted in a No. 1 ARIA AWARD, making MIRUSIA the first classical artist ever to receive such an Award.
It is no wonder that the Australian media named her "The Unconventional Pop Star". MIRUSIA has released 5 solo albums and her version of "Ave Maria" has over 25 million views on YouTube. Ready to start a new chapter in her life, MIRUSIA returned home in 2012 and recorded an album appropriately titled "Home".
She embarked on a sold out "Home Tour" of Australia where she dazzled her audiences in many venues, including the famous Sydney Opera House. Having decided to spread her wings further MIRUSIA now successfully tours extensively around the world with her Musical Director, Graeme Press and her own Chamber Orchestra.
She has achieved recognition as a true international performer singing many styles of music including opera, musical theatre, pop and jazz. In 2016, following her international tours with André Rieu and solo European tours, MIRUSIA will be bringing her beautiful voice and charming personality back home to her Australian fans.
She will be touring nationally, presenting her new concert program "This Time Tomorrow".
