Alstonville Public School Celebrates Cultural Diversity

The staff and students at Alstonville Public School took time out of their day today to celebrate cultural diversity, inclusiveness and belonging. Our school Harmony Day celebration included a 'Sea of Hands' which was made up over 1000 hands which had messages about respect, harmony and anti-bullying. Our principal Mrs Cate Moore was involved in assisting students to place their special messages down in our Sea of Hands.

Alstonville Public School invited special guest speakers along to our Harmony Day assembly and many students from different cultural background shared to our school audience what cultural diversity and a sense of belonging means to them.

Staff were also involved in their own special celebration of Harmony and held a special orange morning tea in the staffroom, many also dressed in orange.
