All aboard bus tour of 21 different architects

A BUS tour foccusing of the lives and careers of 21 different architects will run later this month in historic Maryborough.

Tour guide, Fraser Coast Regional Council deputy mayor George Seymour, said the architects covered by the tour all brought their own unique talents and inspiration to the way Maryborough looks. 

“Maryborough is famous as the heritage city for its architecture, this tour will examine the buildings by 21 different architects who have shaped Maryborough and given us the beautiful buildings and streetscapes we have today.”

The bus tour takes 1.5 hours and will cover much of the history of Maryborough through its heritage architecture and 21 different architects.

Maryborough has one of the highest concentrations of heritage buildings of anywhere in Australia. 

“This wealth of heritage buildings provides the perfect way to explore our rich history,” Cr Seymour said.

The tour will run from 10am on Wednesday, July 20 and Saturday, July 23. 

The cost is $10 and tickets can be purchased from the Bond Store Museum or by calling 4190 5722.
