Busy battle on island and Bay for nine Coast candidates

FROM Fraser Island through River Heads to Susan River and Dundathu, nine candidates are fighting for their votes.

Thursday's candidate profiles feature divisions seven and eight, held by incumbent councillors Darren Everard and Robert Garland.

Cr Everard will fight four candidates including media identity Peter Carey, author Chris Collins, Dial-a-driver founder Rob Braddock and taxi driver Ken Taylor. The incumbent Cr Everard did not provide his candidate profile to the Chronicle.

Division seven incorporates Fraser Island, River Heads, Booral and parts of Urangan and Wondunna.

In division eight deputy mayor Robert Garland is attempting to defeat ex-councillor Les Muckan, Denis Chapman and Krissie Miller.

The division spans from Boat Harbour Dr down the eastern side of Maryborough Hervey Bay Rd to Dundathu.
