Student at PNG Uni of Technology killed by men with knives
A STUDENT at the Papua New Guinea University of Technology has been killed by a group of men armed with knives.
The attack happened about 10pm on Saturday and the men later set fire to several buildings on campus, including the student council president's office, the university said in a statement.
Security forces brought the situation under control early yesterday when tear gas was fired into the crowd.
Students at the university have been boycotting classes as part of nationwide protests demanding the resignation of PM Peter O'Neill over corruption allegations.
