Online shoppers furious over Coles' incorrect orders

Sam Woods

ANGRY shoppers across Australia have been unleashing their inner Grinch on Coles and Woolworths over incorrect online shopping orders.

Customers who thought they were being organised by ordering in advance online complained on social media yesterday that they were missing several items when their orders arrived.

Some of the groceries did not go unnoticed in their absence on the Christmas table either - important fare such as turkeys, ham and Christmas cake.

"So no Christmas cake for our table this year," Kim Leanne Spriggs wrote on Coles' Facebook page.

Mervyn Davidson wrote on Woolworths' Facebook page that the supermarket had failed to get his online order for a 600g ham right.

Woolworths said they made thousands of deliveries on Thursday.

"Our online team worked hard to ensure orders were filled so our customers can have a great Christmas," it said in an email.

APN Newsdesk attempted to contact Coles, but did not get a response.

In a statement to the ABC, Coles apologised and said it was experiencing unprecedented demand.

Coles offered a refund for undelivered items and apologised to affected customers.
