Australia may soon be involved in South China Sea navigation

AUSTRALIA could soon engage in "freedom of navigation" exercises in the contested South China Sea.

Reports in The Australian yesterday indicated the proposal was being actively considered.

It comes amid a wider push by Japan and the US for more such exercises as China continues constructing islands in the region.
