103-year-old pianist becomes instant social media superstar

ONCE an entertainer, always an entertainer.

That's the motto of 103-year-old pianist Dorothy Mason who has become an internet sensation after she was filmed playing for her fellow residents at the Seneca Sunrise Assisted Living facility in the US.

The footage shows Dorothy impressively sweeping through her repertoire of songs as residents listen on intently, cheers going up when a favourites song is played.

Dorothy, who clearly is having the time of her life tinkling the ivories, said she enjoyed bringing a ray of musical sunshine to her friends and neighbours' day.

"I just love to play for them," she said.

The video, shared by Linda Petersen Zinnell, has had over 11,000 views and over 200 shares at the time of writing.
